About this year’s SingleMinded conference
This year will be the 7th annual SingleMinded conference and we hope you can join us for what promises to be a great day of fellowship, teaching, worship and encouragement!
This is not Christian speed-dating. In fact, we’d love to see dating couples come along as they have done in previous years. The puprpose of the SingleMinded conference is enable those who attend to spend time learning what the Bible has to say about how we should live as single or dating Christians, and to spend time with others who love the Lord – and most likely have the exact same questions and struggles you do.
The dictionary says to be single-minded is having or concentrating on only one aim or purpose. So come along this year and spend some time considering what that purpose should be.
Speakers at SingleMinded 2017
This year there will be 4 short studies, plus two split group (guys/girls) sessions – details on who will be teaching and leading these sessions will be announced very soon (during early August).
If you are staying in the area for the weekend, we would love to see you at the regular Sunday morning service at DCF on the 1st October, where you would be very welcome.
Details of SingleMinded 2017
This event will be held at Deal Christian Fellowship in Kent on Saturday 30th September, with an optional social meal on Friday 29th September. Deal is a peaceful seaside town on the Kent coast with views of France on a clear day and good transport links by train and by road.
If you are travelling a distance and plan to stay in the area please note that Accommodation needs to be arrange separately, but to make it as easy as possible for you, we have listed local hotels and bed-and-breakfasts on the accommodation page on this website. There is a registration fee of just £10 which includes a full lunchtime buffet and plenty of tea, coffee and cake – however we’d recommend bringing some small change too in case you want any extra snacks etc.
Ample parking should be available at DCF throughout the weekend and should (if you’re staying in the area) your hotel or bed-and-breakfast not have available parking feel free to park at DCF overnight (in a locked & walled car park) – just let us know (if you are planning to do this) when you turn up so we can make the necessary arrangements.
The conference itself will start at 11:00am on Saturday 30th September, however please try to arrive from 10:15am onwards to make check-in just that little bit easier (there’ll be tea and coffee available too). For those travelling by train you’ll be pleased to know that DCF is an easy 5-10 minute walk from Deal station (also, Deal is on the HS1 high speed route from St. Pancras).
During the day there will be 4 short teaching sessions, 2 split group sessions as well as times of worship. You’ll also be served a full buffet lunch. Whilst the conference will finish by 5.30pm please feel free to stay for more tea, coffee and fellowship.
If you’re travelling a distance you might want to take advantage of the local area and stay a few extra days. Local attractions include Deal, Walmer and Dover castles as well as Howlett’s and Port Lympne zoos, or Wingham Wildlife Park.
If you’re still not sure about coming to SingleMinded 2017 then take a look at our FAQ page where we have extra information about the conference. If you have any questions, then please do get in touch with us – we’ll be more than happy to help.
