Why am I still single?

Just over a month ago at CreationFest 2015 I taught on the subject of singleness, and specifically the question ‘Why am I still single?’ – and importantly – how do we answer that as Christians. You can listen to the audio study using the player above, or download it from creationfest.org.uk under the section titled ‘Practical faith questions’
In answering this question, there are some other common underlying questions or thoughts that we looked at in this study:
- I want to get out of this!
- What am I doing wrong?
- What is wrong with me?
- Am I single because of sin in my life?
- Is God withholding a blessing?
- Why?!?
This study is focussed on how we answer those questions as Christians…
Sure, this was taught at a Christian festival so that’s not a shock, but actually whether we are a Christian or not is and always will be more important than our relationship or marital status. More than just defining who we are, whether we are a Christian or not is literally a matter of life or death – on an eternal scale. And so my assumption, as we look at this question, is that we are approaching this as Christians.
Encouraging, wise sermon to single people or otherwise and prov 29 v 18 comes to mind.
